Igniton/EHC

Bike 08 Ridgeback,

Had seat off and started the bike and the RED IGNITION LIGHT is lite up on the EHC. Bike starts and runs and light flashes slightly. All other functions work well. Put die-electic in all igntion module plugs (3) and pins are in good condtion.

As in the manual the light comes on when I press the run button and will slightly flicker when running

Best Idea of where I should start looking

I think that is normal from what I have heard.

I know that mine does that every since I bought it, Have over 2600 miles, isnt it supposed to do that????

Don't know the service manual says" indicates open/short condition in the igntion circuit. Lights when run button is pressed. May flash when motorcycle is running"

I have a different year (05) but mine is definitely supposed to do that. The only light on the EHC that isn't strictly a fault light is the ignition light. It is also supposed to flash very quickly when the engine is running.

If you hook up the EHC to the diagnostic software it will have a fault show up for every time you have started the bike - this is not, however, a fault.

At least thats how it works for the 05 bikes. Whether it is different for 08 I don't know.
