Ignition module

I had a leaky rear cylinder base gasket on my 05' chopper and repaired that, but after putting everything back together the front cylinder doesnt seem to fire.(never had it off) Bike runs rough and cool air comes from the front pipe. I undid the coil cover bolts and moved it out of the way and unplugged the battery when I was working on the rear jug. I put it all back together and no front cylinder. Looking at the ignition module I see a fast flashing blue on the rear led and a dim yellow flashing led on the middle led. when I turn off the bike a red one comes on, on the front led.(I understand this one)

Is the yellow one supposed to be blue? Do I have a coil going out? :bang:

Also pulled plugs and checked for spark and both plugs had spark but looked weak to me. Any help would be appreciated!

Did you add that last part about checking for spark? I didn't see it earlier! Anyway, if you have any spark, you should have some firing on that front cylinder IF you have fuel and compression. Make sure there's gas gettin in there.

I lost my front cylinder recently and it was because of no spark so I made some alterations to my IST system (cut the coil connector out and crimped the wires). If you have spark (are you absolutely sure) then it must be compression because you must be getting fuel for the bike to run at all.

Went out this morning to see if I could figure out the problem. Checked spark again and have a white spark on both plugs. Have good compression in both cylinders and that made me look at the carb. Pulled bowl and found nothing out of the ordinary. Decided to try to start again and got about a dozen cranks and battery puked. Had it on tender all night and always use the tender.

Did you remove the wires from the coil when you disassembled it? If so check to see you put them back on properly. 05 went to single fire coil/ignition. Maybe you are firing backwards!

I took them off a while back when I changed the heads. I marked them before removal. I actually had the bike out for a ride a few days ago and noticed the leak and went back into it. Prob showed up after I took the rear cylinder off.

Well if you have spark then seems the only thing that will prevent it from firing is fuel or compression. Is your valve adjustment set properly to give you compression? Do you have a compression gauge? You might want to see what it is.

Be sure the yellow wire is on the front of the coil. Also spark plugs can fool you, go a head and change them out.
