Ignition Module Always on & Bike Won't Kill

Energy One

I have a 2007 Big Dog Chopper with about 41,000 miles on her. About 2 years ago, I burned out my last EHC so I bought and installed the BD Perf Productions EHC retrofit kit. Was some trouble but got everything to work. Had a worn out RH control circuit board and bought/installed a new generation one.

I now have a strange electrical situation. The bike starts & runs fine (either off solenoid or Spyke slammer) but will not turn off (either with key or kill switch). I have to jump into gear or pull plug wires to shut down. Also, when the ‘pigtail’ grounds are connected to the battery ground the red light on the ignition module comes on & stays on – WTF?

I even disconnected key switch to see if light goes out – it does not. Somehow, the ignition module is getting voltage with key off and ‘Run’ button not pressed.

I’m pretty good electrically, but this has me banana butt-fuck crazy! Any experience or advice to share about this? Would be much appreciated. Thanks, Louie.

If everything is ON I'd be checking for a grounded orange wire coming from the key switch...

Thanks. That's along with another 6 thou or so on my old Harley FXRS Shovel, since I got the Dog. Of course the Shovel got a bit neglected in the riding dept after the Chopper.

Looks like I may have to take off the tank to keep chasing the possible short in orange ignition wire. But something weird is definitely going on. When I touch the 3 pigtail grounds from the PDM to - batt terminal, I get relay clicks in the PDM. With battery-to-frame ground cable disconnected from batt, I get a + 12.72 V on the pigtails relative to the - batt term. Then, if I connect the frame-ground batt cable to the - batt term, the pigtail 'ground' voltage all change (11.45 V, 10.84 V & 4.90 V). That was with ignition switch off. Turn on key and pigtail voltages go to 11.79 V, 12.62 V & 4.97 V.
With pigtails to - batt term, I do get lights, horn, etc. WTF ?????????
