If one compression release isn't working will it make the bike hard to turnover?

I have been suspecting one compression release isn't working right. So, will one degraded compression release make it hard to turn over the engine or does both cause this. Once I have a failure to start, it usually spins right up. I tend to manually depress on compression release to avoid the problem. I have a Braille and it tested good as did the previous one. Could it be the ground wire?

Testing your compression releases is simple. Unplug the small green wire from the starter so it can't turn, then press the start button. Listen at each head to hear if they are clicking.

I only have one CR working on the front head. The rear one doesn't work, and not even connected, and I can't tell much differance.

I think I have a faulty rear release. I try to manually compress it a few times when cold I believe it's sticking. I can feel the release pull down when I hit the start button so I know they are moving, just not sure how well. Going to try and take the condom off and through some penetrating oil down there.

You could run a new wire to your compression releases from your starter to ensure they are open when your start button is pressed. Currently the stock big dog only has them open for a split second so it's gotta catch quick. :down:
