Idling question

Hey guys, I am curious about something that I need you tech guys to answer for me.

I have been able to finally get some riding time now that the weather here is better.

I have been having no problems starting my cold bike when I am ready to ride. Fuel/Air mix seems to be good because once started it will idle at 1000 rpms with no effort on my part.

However I've noticed here lately that once I return home, shift into Neutral and idle for a few seconds the engine will dip below 1000 rpms. I would have guessed after giving the bike a good push that it would be purring like a kitten once I park it.

Side note, I only run high octane fuel w/no ethanol.

Any guesses as to why this is occuring?

I would just adjust your idle again.....after your engine is warmed up or when ya get back from a ride :up:
mine did that 1 time after I got back from a ride...I just bumped the idle back up to 1000

Curtk, Ajust idle when your engine is warm, it will probably run a little high till warmed up.

What they said. Idle will decrease a bit after warm up. Good to set it a full operating temperature.

Hey guys, will simply adjusting the idle cause problems with the carb-air/fuel settings?

I am just dialing up idle right?

nope....yep...just bump your idle up til ya get 2 green lights on your tach
