Idle Mixture Screw

Hey guys, I searched and found some good info on adjusting the S&S carb. But if I turn the Idle Mixture Screw clockwise, does this make it richer or leaner? I want to turn it a little bit leaner. So which way do I turn it? Thanks!

Idle screw is for speeding up or slowing down the idle. The air/fuel mixture screw is for setting up richer or leaner. Turning the screw out enriches it (counter clockwise) and turning the screw in leans it out. (clockwise)

Thanks guys. That is what I wanted to know. I wasn't sure which way to turn the Idle Mixture Screw to lean her out. Thanks for the S&S carb guide. I already have that in my saved. That shit is just confusing to me, because who the hell knows what size jets are in this thing, and the pipes are custom made (the previous owner said the were) or at least they look modified to me where they dump. So who knows if it is even jetted correctly. I mean, once she warms up, she runs like a raped ape. It is just the cold start and warm up period. I can understand some of my back firing a little since there are no baffles. But I think it is all in the carb somehow.

Checking jets is not hard at all. I say pull the carb and find out so at least you know.

Actually you just need to remove the bowl not the whole carb.
