Identifying engine

This may already be covered but I couldn’t find it. Is there a quick way to tell if I have a 107 or 117 without calling s&s with numbers ? Guys wife thought it was 117 but I’d like to confirm.

Does it say over on the primary side SSW or SSW+? The + is the easiest way to identify it, also a picture of between the top of the heads behind the carb would also tell us.

SSW is 107
SSW+ is 117

I'm pretty sure that's a 107. The 117 has a different breather system. On the 117's, there will be a hose coming from the front head to the manifold, and a line coming from the rear head to the air cleaner. Check your number on the left side of the crankcase. If the second letter is a "C", it is is a 4" bore. That's a 107. If it's an "E", that's a 4 1/8" bore. That's a 117.

107 for sure by the picture. Nice and clean for sure!

The plus would be right there with the SSW.

Here's a 117 since you posted your picture. Figured it be good for you & everyone to see the difference. Easily recognized just walking right by a bike. No need to even bend over..lol

Most of the time you know what engine it is just by the year of the bike, except '04. Most have the 107, but some later models did receive the new 117.
