I lowered my 2004 Chopper DT down to the "stops". My bike originally had about 2 inches from the top of my rear tire and the inside of the fender. I basically turned my Chopper into a "non-functioning" soft tail. When I lowered my bike it now sits app 3.5 inches from the ground. My kickstand is now too long and it makes my bike sit upright too straight. My question is for the artists in the group. What would look good as a new kickstand? I have thought of using a 1 inch pentagon shaped raw material and put some twist to it then turn out at the bottom. Didn't like the look of using a piece of reinforcing steel for a new stand. It just wouldn't go with the rest of my bike.

Welcome from Washington State, hope you enjoy the site. Arlen Ness makes a kickstand that Bolts right on and the length is adjustable...

I've made kickstands for custom (lowered) applications out of Stainless Steel then heated them up near the mounting point with an Oxy-Acytelene torch and bent them for the perfect stance. You can soften the tip and shape it into a small pad if you want for a larger surface area for those hot summer melting tar parking lots. Just work the metal.

Afterward just polish out the blueing. Done.

Thanks for all the help with all the good ides for a custom stand. I thought of making the angle between the frame and the stand to around 7 or 10 degree wedge to kick the stand away from the frame thus making it shorter. Run in a few other problems with this idea. I wouldn't like to modify my existing stand. I may want the bike raised up a little the older I get. The kidney belt i wear sometime gets old to use all the time especially when the temperature is getting up in the numbers. Thanks to all with their good ideas. I may have a direction to go once i figure out what he electrical problem I most recently have with my machine. Thanks to all for their input for the new kickstand. They were all good idea. Graditude for your help.
