I used "P" clamps to mount the speakers on the handlebars, amp under the tank, and velcro on my seat (up next to the tank) for my player. It's been there for about 2 1/2 yrs.....no problems:flag:

I have for a long time thought of some kind of music on the bike other than my Oakley Thumps.

I'm using the 2 1/2" setup from Cycle Sounds. With there amp, I play and hear mine rather I'm in town or highway traveling. Never had a problem-even with highway speeds. You can see my speakers on my profile pic..:2thumbs:

I'm not looking to put speakers on my bike I just want to get the I-pod outa my pocket and on my bars without using chewing gum and a zip tie, I've got god buds I use so sound is not an issue

usually in my pocket...just got a pair of westone 1 earbuds...they go in the ear so they should block out the wind. just got em and with the rain haven't had a chance to get out and try them while riding. They sound clear and you can hear every instrument but they seem a little lite on the bass.
damn Gas Man I've been staring at your "Gravity" girl. Hot!!! took me a half hour to finish typing this.

My iPod (nano) goes into my pocket or in a small case set up to hang like a necklace...hence the small nano size. I have an RF remote made by Scosche which has a cradle I mount onto my left handle bar. It allows me to adjust volume, skip songs, pause, etc w/o having to take my eyes off the road or move my hand far away from the bar. It is weather resistant and very easy to use. Since I use a half helment in Washington (no helmet when I head east) you'd want to pair your music source with a very good in-ear system. The best type is the kind which seals in your ear thus preventing wind noise so the rider doesn't have to jack the music loud to hear it well. Personally I use the Shure SE530 set but I'd say try a few and use that which fits your ear the best. I can and have worn it for well over 12 hours a day for multiple days in a row...so IMHO in-ear comfort is key and worth extra $.

It works very well.

Eric...is that the one that you simply attach your belt clip holder?
not sure what your talking about... the mount uses the 2 bolts that hold the hand control halfs together,, then velcro holds it on to the mount.. & a velcro strap for security.. but probbly not needed thay make a clamp style to that grips the bar...
kuryakyn # 1473 bolt style
1421 clamp style

I have tried using my music player attached to the bike. But it was a pain to plug in and unplug every time I get on or off the bike. I even used a XM satellite player for a few days. Had a wire going to the sissybar for the satellite receiver, power connector from the battery and then my headphone/ear-buds going to the player. Too many wires so shitcanned that thing.

Now I use a very simple MP3 player that hangs around my neck and I use some very good ear-buds. All in a neat little package that is readily accessible on my chest. Mine is powered by an AA battery that I can re-charge off my battery tender plug on the bike, I charge my phone this way too.

Here are a couple old threads on this subject:

I saw one on Kury that you simply used your belt clip on your phone... clipped it to the flat surface of the mount.

On my iPOd which I keep in my front left pocket, I position it so that the jog wheel is towards the outside and doing so allows me to switch songs, pause, adjust volumn, etc by using my index finger through the cloth and pocket with no problems. I keep the ear bud cord (High Quality Shure type) coile up to min size and have just enough to go to my ear and not flap around.

Works real well and allows me to take it with me when I get off the bike without all the fumbling, much like Raywood was saying.

I'm doing the same exact thing, just been seeing nice chrome holders that fit on bars for H-D's was hoping someone knew of a universal so it would fit in Dog bars
