I need to get this lubed up so it slides in and out nicely.

Haha, got you all there didn't I ? I can see you all now sweating and hovering your fingers over the mouse wondering shalll I or shan't I. :D
Don't panic though it's a clutch cable and i thought i would give mine a bit of lube before my bike goes back together. Now is it best to remove it from the lever or the other end before i fire some lube in there?

Will the lube run down the cable or up the cable easier? I quess if you turn the bike upside down it would run down the cable from the bottom. Of course since you are on the other side of the pond things may work differently. Good luck.

I lube my cable while on the bike. Pull in the clutch cable and hold it. then take a bottle of lube with a long fine needle and squeeze some in. Do it every time you change your oil. It wicks all the way down the cable. I got the lube with the long needle from bikers choice which is a bike shop. Its also a good idea to do your throttle cables!!!

I done my throttle cables first as the engine is out at the minute, they were easy to do from the bottom with the same sort of stuff you use and a cable lube tool. I suppose i was more asking which end of the clutch cable would be easier to remove to fit the tool on, but you have sort of given me an answer and i will try it how you have suggested as it will save me having to remove anything. Thank you.
