Ok, finally I have started the "operation"... I ve found some nasty surprises... lots of corrosion in some conections etc...

Here below some pics..

1. The Fuse; It was so corroded I dunno how the F the bike was running... I did clean it with sand paper and then fill it up with Dialectric Grease... Now. This Fuses are HUGE! I have never seen nothing like that in Europe... WHERE CAN I FIND A COUPLE SPARES?

2. The EHC; As you can see in the pics... the one (original still mounted on the Dog) and the spare next to it, on my hand.... WOULD IT BE WORTH IT TO SWAP EM?

3. The TH Programmable Inginition; No problems here... it was sent to me by TH with the correct jacks :2thumbs:

4. The Slam Button; I cannot reach to it :bang::bang: Tips?

5. The rest of the pics are just routine maintenace... Dielectric Grease in all conectors, etc (some were holding by zip ties )

To be continued.... Thanks guys.

Franco,
The fuse on your bike is older than the one on my bike and they are different, but I did just order some that I found online. If they were the same I would just send it to you. As for the slam button, the easiest way I found is to get the 1/4 inch rachet with the extension and a swivel piece then the socket that fits and remove the bolts. Initially I tried to use the screw driver but ultimately just couldnt get that to work. With the extension and swivel you can approach through the belt gaurd. Also you should take off the plastic baattery covers if you can so as to have a better field of vision and avoid damaging them. Can't adviswe on the EHC swap other than to say "if it ain't broke...."

It's called a MAXI fuse...I have probably 20 or so of them kits with the fuse on hand if you need one...as far as just getting a fuse, most auto parts stores have them here in the states...if you need one or more and want me to send them your way, let me know

Paleskin: Rgr that... a swivel extension is what I need, I tried to remove the belt guard but the inside screw is giving me a hard time :bang:

I have cleaned & greased up the conections and hokked up the same old EHC .... also I have changed the Ignition module, now I have the Programable one :D

The Battery is off the Bike.... always off when I work on her electrics

Andrew: yes Bro, I think it is still OK but I wouldnt mind to have some spare ones, just in case! :D I will PM you.

Going back downstairs.... BRB

Alright.... one more question.... I have been installing the xXx Booster kit........ I am not happy the way ended up... see pic below... IS IT NORMAL THAT THE "thingy" DOES NOT SIT FLAT? As you can see there is (1) milimeter distance to reach bottom... I tried three times.... no way I can get it "right".... Is it OK to leave lioke this?

BTW.... I was shocked to find all the bolts loose and corroded... the inside looks very dirty too

I just had my starter out, take the belt guard off and remove a few plugs and there's only 2 screws holding the starter in there. Sometimes its easier to remove than trying to fiddle around with it in there. That belt guard screw, the one that's a pain, I removed with a ball point alan wrench and a box wrench on it for leverage.

Hope you spent enough time with the wife:SEX:

40 Amp Fuse should be able to find one at any Auto Store, if not I too can fix you up as I have two spare ones. The rest I would just clean it up and replace all rusty bolts. As for the EHC, don't fuck with it till it gives out. Keep the spare in your tool bag just in case. :2thumbs:

Thanks guys.

One more question... I bought the Booster and extension screw kits from Bob (xXx) I have a problem... In Dubai Customs they almost took the screws off me... while discussing about it with that mooron I managed to put the screws back in my bag but left the paperwork behind...

My question:

The two screws; Fuel Pump and Idle... which one is which? One is a bit shorter than the other...

Also, my earlier question about the Booster; is it alright the way it sits?

I was able to buy just that shaft used from an Alternator/Starter shop for $10. Not sure if you got shops like that in your neighborhood. If you can get the shaft out of the starter Franco it can be replaced. Or send the whole starter to WSW and get it rebuilt. Sorry to see that.

What caused it to break. Did you have the motor running after the cam install or did it break the shaft on startup?

Unfortunately no mechanics for these beasts in my area Brooks... :bang: I will have to bite the bullet! I am waiting for Curtis to email me with some options.

I did contact Kaptin and he did forsee that this would be the outcome... I went ahead with my mods... after everything was finished I did open the primary and.... yes, there it was!!!

Franco,

what can I say  ??? Just bad luck........

My carb looks different from yours - just like this one:

Or do you have a S&S E-carb?? The round Venturi thing of mine seems to be much bigger then the one in your pics.

Just wondering
