I messed up

Did the same, went to remove my shift linkage to work on the heims, slipped and scratched the primary. Went to change the exhaust, smacked the ratchet on my new pulley cover. Think I'm the only one that notices though but it still sucks. Think I'll just paint everything flat black.
Kidding

Was selling cars for Chevy about 15 years ago and was delivering a GEO Metro. As I was screwing the front plate on I became distracted by the 25ish hot babe:eek: that had bought the car. Screwdriver slipped and went right up the hood! Left about a 3" scratch right down to the primer.:bang: A definate drag.

Try and see if Nelson can get you a touch up paint kit. BDM may not have the paint anymore, but they might have a few touch up paint kits laying around.

Good suggestion if that don’t work find a good body shop and leave the tank. If they are good they can match it up and touch it up like new. My buddy in Vero owns a shop and was able to match my 04 Honda Royal Purple Pearl…:2thumbs:

That's OK, I was working at a Porsche dealer years ago. I was hung over and only set 3 of the 4 arms on the lift. Raised it up 6' and went up like a champ but while I turned to get a wrench, that's when it fell off the lift. Left a lot more than a scratch, trust me! I was able to manage a quick: "What the fuck happened?", but that was the end of my Porsche mechanic career.

Find out from BDM if it is a PPG (more than likely) or HOK. Have them give you the PPG paint code and you can order off the net or go to a local PPG dealer and get some mixed off the paint code!

Works everytime! :2thumbs:

Call Big Dog & at least get the PAint code & the type of paint that they use. There are a few different kinds. From there your local Automotive Paint Supplier should be able to make any amount of the paint for you.

All I can say is been there Done that & I know exactly how you feel.

Good input BB .. your local body shop can match just about anything. Some ()*#)@*$@$ keyed my wife's BMW $4200 to repaint everything but the hood, roof and trunk lid - they can match it so good you can't tell.

Working on your scoot scratches are gonna happen unless you cover the dam thing with blue tape!!! I bet most dealers and shops don't use tape ...Gasman does!! The crap on the road will get you sooner or later ... kinda of a badge of courage and proof it gets ridden

Along with what everyone else has said. Contact big dog and get your paint code. If you need help pm me with your vin or project number and I can get it for you. Next, contact some local bike shops and see who they use for paint work. The guy who does that paint for our shop can touch up little sections like that for relatively cheap.

One of my favorite lines from a movie - the shop foreman comes out into the waiting area, with the paperwork in his hand, a cigar stuck in his face, and says, "Allright - who's the sub commander?"

Anybody remember the scene?

Great scene P8RIOT....Risky Business.....to Tom Cruise after sinking his dad's Porsche....believe it may have been "u-boat commander" ?
