I Called BDP WTF?

I called Big Dog perf parts today hoping to get lucky with some odd ball parts I

need and had no luck. They should have called any bike with a tp107 "The

Mongrel" because that's what it is. When the guy pulled up the tp107 motor it

gave him one vendor part # which according to him meant that Big Dog

purchased these motors pre-assembled. I was always under the impression that

BD put these together? So who did the assembly? BDP also recommends that

you replace any TP products with S&S.

To my limited knowledge, the 107's didn't have any TP products, i.e. rocker boxes/roller rockers, like the '05 and '06's had. Rocky has an '03 Mastiff with a 107 and it's been rock solid compared to my '05 117. What parts are you looking for?

After tearing down the top end it looks like I have TP rocker boxes, Jims rockers, Tp

pushrods, edelbrock heads and S&S rods. I don't know the make of the pistons and

cylinders. I ordered std bore S&S rings and am going to hone it. I was looking for the

gaskets for the pic below but I picked up some sheet gasket and will make them myself.

I have no complaints at all regarding the power and performance of this motor combo, it

just leaks like a sieve.

I would call TP and see if they can tell you any info regarding your engine. I assume BDM bought these engines complete from TP for the 01's.

Tp rocker boxes have 4 bolts. SS has 6 bolts. You can see that while the engine is together

I have a TP also the gasket between the rocker box and head is standard EVO the pstons are tp. Call tp engineering they should be able to tell you whatever you want to know. Btw in case you didn't know those are edelbrock heads. Go to edelbrocks website and you can buy a top end gasket set for 29 dollars. Cometic base and mls head gaskets come with it. Edelbrock Performance Products, Sportswear and Accessories - Gaskets I bought four sets.

I just assumed that TP didn't do the assembly because there are so many other brands

used. Wouldn't TP use their own rockers instead of Jims?

I don't think TP made all those parts when our engines were put together. I think they only made cases and cylinders at that time.

Are these gaskets also good for a 2006 K9 (TP heads) ? They are so cheap compared to the prices in Europe!!!! Please let me know if they will be good to me and I will order some before they run out.
