TRUE COLORS COLLISION
For the past 8 years of my 1st grand daughter Savanas life I have been raising her,she will be 9 in 2 weeks...Back in sept my daughter gave birth to another little girl 3 weeks premature and she has Down Syndrom..well it dont take a rocket scientist to figure if she aint gonna take care of the first child ,odds are she aint gonna take care of the new little girl whos name is Solaura...Anyway through Protective Services which is a branch of child services and or Social Services I became a restrictive Foster Care parent for my second grand daughter...needless to say,I am just a single guy,Savana had gotten pretty independent and it wasnt a problem for her to go up my friends house or my parents so that I can get some riding in...For me its pure therapy, and alot of time keeps me from killing babys daddys, and my own daughter....with having Solaura it makes it a little harder to have someone take care of my most precious package of the both of these little girls while I go get some riding on....Half the time I have to find it in myself to not feel guilty leaving them behind or why am I riding and not taking them to the park???? Anyway I took them both to the carnival friday night and to the park today so that I wont have guilt when I get to drop them off at my Moms tommorrow morning at 9am and scoot on down the road with my buddy.....I dont know how this happened..it wasnt long ago I was a guy with a paid off trailer (yep white trailer trash) a hot rod, a motorcycle, hardly no bills, nor responsibilities, sharing in the success of building our own small independent bodyshop and not a care in the world....I now have a morgage, credit card debt,a bike payment, tons of responsibility, not enough time in the day the weight of successfully raising these 2 girls, and a heart that is just so filled with the love from these 2 kids........Life has gotten good, but quite complicated...it'd be nice to have a good woman in my corner, but 2 kids during mid-life really aint on most of their lists....
Anyway I am just so freakin lookin forward to gettin out and ridin tommorrow, thanks for lettin me vent...........

Children are innocent and precious and need someone to look up to, and it sounds like they have a great roll model. Take care of them and they will keep you young at heart. That is until they hit there teens ......thats when all bets are off.
Keep them safe and ride safe .... God Bless :2thumbs:

Jimi, I have no idea who you are. Don't know anything about you but I can say that you are one helluva guy. Ive been in law enforcement for 6 years in a large city filled with the most selfish sick minded people in the world. I've see some horrible shit ( the kind of stuff people can't even publish). It's easier to walk away from things than to stand up and do what's right. I have 2 kids and a daughter that passed away from birth defects several years ago. I deal with child protective services alot and it breaks my heart what people do to their own kids. There's really not that much that bothers me anymore unless it deals with innocent children. You have stepped up to the plate when no one else would. Your grandkids will love you for that. My wife says they are adorable and precious. I can't say that out loud cause I'm a "man", lol. I just wanted to say thanks for doing what is right and stepping up to the plate. You have 2 game wining homeruns. I believe that when people do right, they will receive the fruits of their labor. I know ur not asking anything from anyone. But could you please send me ur addy or pay pal email. Me and my wife would like to buy dinner, ice-cream, sno cones or whatever for you and ur grandkids. It won't be much I promise but alittle something to say thanks.

This may be awkward but I promise we aren't sitting on bean bags naked eating cheese puffs watching steven king reruns kind of people. Btw enjoy ur ride brother. :)

In the big picture, we get our rewards in the next life. Much of the time we don't get that instantaneous gratification we're impatiently seeking.

But dude, you ARE doing the right thing. No one promised this life to be a rose garden; a walk in the park (heaven--free of pain and trials). If they did, they were lying. There is a heaven, and this ain't it.

KEEP at it! Do take care of yourself (a little "down time") now and again, but just know that in the big picture of life, you ARE making a difference; something not just anyone can claim. Your grand-daughters are, and will, be appreciative. They will have you to thank for the rest of their lives. Their thanks and love will be enough to sustain you...so hang in there.

If you don't have a church to support you (I think everyone should), you have allot of help right here in the Big Dog community. One again. you ARE doing the right thing, and you can have peace of mind knowing that.
