The one of the side covers that BDM just replaced for a paint issue has cracked at the right rear top corner mount.:bang::bang::bang: Now, I'm gonna have to go through all this again and hopefully they will cover it now.

Is it one of the new type connectors on it or do the bolts hold it on?
I waited 4 or 5 weeks for a set of mono black covers. I would think they would have them laying around for top notch customer turn around service.

I think both mine got cracks in em and the paint is slightly bubbled near the exhaust - if mine completely fall to pieces I think I'll get some metal ones made - no point replacing shit with shit

pretty sure its the old style mount even though it should have been changed to the new style when they put this set on but, nnnnoooo now I have to go through this again. I AM PISSED OFF. My original set had metal braces to keep this from happening but this set doesn't have them.

:hi: the thing is, the one they replaced for the paint had a metal bracket in it that nobody had seen before. it was heavy enough to have never cracked. but the replacement did.:angry: :angry: :angry: sorry shane and good luck.

I'm on my 5th or 6th set and have the new mounts now.
I'm still not ready to have anything painted on them yet but time will tell. There are two SB's out now.

Update

talked to Amy at the puppy farm on tuesday and she said that there would be no problem getting the covers replaced. just got back from big dog columbus and got the process started with the paperwork and they will call me when the parts show up. :2thumbs:

Yeah thats the old style they did away with the bolts now its just a push pin into a rubber grommet. O yeah and they drill out the frame a bit for acceptance . Gas took pics of mine tonight I'm sure they will be posted soon

Same thing happened to me about a year ago on my 06 Ridgeback, left cover decided to fly off at 65 mph on the highway. Bigdog pulled up my VIN and painted a new set no problem. I hope all works out for you soon.

just be glad that you have a factory paint. when my side covers broke, bigdog said that the would replace the covers but not pay for the custom paint. after 2 months and alot of calls they said they would pay for the paint. it took me another 1.5 months to get the covers back from the painter. i wil say that amy is the person to deal with at bigdog. she got it done for me.

Amy is top notch. She's always a good person to deal with. Really all of BDM is. I mean, how many other companies do you know people that count by first name? Not many I'm guessing!!!

Totally agree. Amy took care of me with my EHC when it went out after my warrenty.

I just got back from Columbus Big Dog and would like to thank Blake and Gary for taking care of me and replacing the side covers for me while I waited. They look great and am very pleased with the mount style now. They also put a shot section of rubber on the edge of the belt guard where the cover just might vibrate to in some instance. again thanks guys.
