Who would like to see a hyd clutch conversion kit for your BD? Eliminate the problematic clutch cable breakage at the transmission? Have an easy clutch lever pull?

There is one coming and it will be introduced here in a couple days. It's a cool design and been in prototype being tested by some long distance rider. :D

This kit replaces all the parts on the right side converting the cable pull to a hydralic actuated action. Mind you, it still has a short cable from the lever to the small master cylinder that is mounted in the place of your current cable adjuster.

Coming to BDB in a day or two :2thumbs::cheers:

I would be very interested in seeing it! No more clutch cable breakage worries, or adjustments as the cable stretches.

This has been in testing for a long time with many MANY miles on a Big Dog and may just become the "Mod" of the year.:2thumbs:

LamboV12 did this several years ago. pics are in his gallery. But his set up was the opposite, cable was at the bottom hydraulic was at the top so he could run standard controls which now mean that if you decide to change out hand controls and bars you can go full hydraulic.

Switched over to the Hydro several years back when I swapped out bars and controls --- best way to go and never worry about a cable snapping.

If it still has a cable going down part way, wouldn't there still be pressure on the cable and still be prone to breaking? I'm interested, but it seems like a hybrid system, so was just curious.

Damn - Alhal, your memory is better than mine - Yeah, did it a long time ago, but know I'm totally hydralic - Made an adapter plate the goes between the stock bdm trans and any baker cover - works great.

Only problem is when you want to adjust the clutch you have to pull the primary cover and adjust the rod from the left side because BDM does not have a derby cover. Have not had to adjust it yet...

Knock on wood - no trans issues (the notorious 06), but if I blow a main shaft I'm going to weld in a stock trans mount plate and just go with an Ultima with open belt, but until then all is good with this set up
:)

Its coming people, DMC has the Pulley cover issue resolved now we are working on the Master cylinder. The idea being that all you do is remove your cable install DMC's master cylinder to your existing hand controls, run your line to your new pulley cover, by DMC, bleed your system and go. We are working diligently to complete this kit for you folks.

So are you now saying that the master cylinder is mounted to the hand controls in order to do away with the cable all together?
