How to remove transmission

The motor crank gear nut is on with a standard thread correct? I should be turning it counter-clockwise? Been going at it for a while and the impact wrench is not budging it.

I had a cheap pneumatic impact wrench, which worked for the clutch nut, but i went and bought a wrench with 700ft/lb of torque and the crank nut is now OFF! Thanks everyone, now to work on getting the primary off completely and to the transmission.

ok, I think for at least practice sake I will put the primary back together and replace the seal since the transmission seems ok. The only seal I see is the o-ring, clutch to transmission. But it does not look bad. Looks clean with no scuffs.

So if my transmission was leaking fluid into the primary that is the seal to replace, correct?

I agree with buying new ones, but I just want to make sure I need to go further. I have gotten to the trans shaft while looking at it through the primary. Clutch plates off. I would assume the seal that is there (an o-ring) called "o-ring clutch to transmission" is the only seal I would need to replace if the tranny was leaking fluid into the primary. I would think any seals back toward the tranny would leak on the ground if bad?

How do I remove the c/s seal (the one over the shaft) on the primary side? Do I just pop them out with a Flathead? I am having trouble with finding a thread that explains it

I am finally back to working on the bike and since there is not play in the transmission I am going to replace the seals and see if I can put it back together. If I am successful with that over the winter I will break it back down and send the tranny off for a rebuild.

I figured out how to remove the seal, but putting a screw in one side and working it out.

now I am finally putting it back together. Had to order the seal and orings online and get a weekend off.

Doe the transmission to clutch oring just slide over the transmission shaft and the install the main shaft seal? Just been so long, I cannot remember.

I want to thank you all for your help. I only took her out for a small drive around the subdivision, but she ran well. She shifted through gears 1 through 4 with not problem. I need to go on a much longer ride to make sure all it well, but so far it is looking good and apparently I put it back together ok and that is really good news.
