This has long sense been a question. Its very simple. Only a few steps past just swapping out your lenses.

You may have to do this cause you have a bad board, or maybe a scratched housing, or going to a aftermarket set.

Pull your lens with a flat head screw driver

You get this

Now you have your LED board

Pry out your LED board on the board itself...

The rubber cup will come with it

Now stick the screw driver behind the rubber cup

BAM

You will find the wiring clip like this

Now to remove the wiring clip from the board. GENTLY pry up the small catch on the clip like so

Now disconnected

here's what you're looking at

And for me what the front looks like with empty turns. The rears go the same way.

Then you have to use a safety pin to remove the wires from the actual clip. it is tricky but can be done. You may want an extra hand to help with this.

I couldn't take a pic of this and do this at the same time. Plus it gets frustrating. So here's how the manual shows it done.

Now un-bolt the housing with a 1/2" wrench

And now you have no blinkers

If you plan on removing all the wiring like I do. you will have to pull the tank, trace the wires back and disconnect under the tank. I suggest pulling the wire hiding cover on the bottom of the lower tripple to help.

Wy bother taking them off ? Just unplug from under the tank and sell them with the trees already attatched. You can't use them with the new trees and you might have a better chance of selling them.

Excellent post Chris....:2thumbs:

I used it this morning to remove the turn signals and wiring so I could polish out the triple tree mount. Too hard to do it on a bench buffer with those items and wiring intact. Once I had the pins out of the connector I had to lift the little tab back up some so it would lock in again when it was installed.
The post was on time anyway brother....
Thanks,
Neil

Great post! May I ask why you're removing all of the wiring, lol, I think I know!
I'm not removing all the wiring just the wiring off the billet that I am trying to polish. I had to remove the triple trees to replace the neck bearings so I dis-assembled the handle bars to polish the controls which led to removing the foot controls and...you get the idea. I now have a completely dis-assembled bike for the most part. BDM had my transmission and I am going to ditch the EHC while I am at it too....

Molex pin connector tools

Hey guys, Hope noone minds a newbie putting in his two cents worth. I have just started working on bikes since I got mine but I have been working on various equipment for the last twenty years or so and the newer style molex pin connectors can be a pain to work with and even worse to replace if you break one. I purchsed these three tools from Snap-On that have saved me alot of headaches. Im pretty sure they are all less than $20.00 each and well worth the price. I have posted pics with the item numbers in case your interested. With all the free info I have gotten from Gasman and others here I thought I might try to give a lil sumthin back! These gadgets dont look like much but there are tubes to slide in and push in the lock tab to release the connectors for all different types and the first tool in the red pouch actually crimps new connectors on to even the smallest wires perfectly every time. Thanks Guys
