I just bought a 2002 pit and it has vance and hines 2 1/2 pipes.I am not sure what the pipes are called but they bend down towards the ground.
Any tricks i can use to tone it down to get thru inspection?

Put the stock pipes on, pass, put your V&H back on. Don't have stock pipes, scour eBay.
Of course without knowing anything about you, where you are e.t.c. we are just pissin in the wind.

You need to post an introduction about yourself and then these guys will be able to help you with anything you need. Good luck and welcome to the forum!

go 1 hr before the inspection point is opened and put an orange post-it in the head light, another one in the stop light, and a green one each side of the gas tank.

its a special code that the police give to their relatives. so the inspector would pass your bike no matter what!!!!

You know the guy I bought it from gave me the stock pipes but they do not look like they fit.It looks like if I bolt one up too the cylinder head the other one will not reach the other head.
The other issue is the the mounting bracket must have been modified for the newer pipes.
By the way I live in delaware and this is my first bigdog which I FUCKING LOVE

We knew you would, love it that is.
If he gave you the pipes then they will fit. I know it looks like they won't but they will. I wouldn't worry about the lower bracket to pass inspection. Put them on, get it passed, then go straight home and change back over.

You don't think the weight of the pipes hanging will strip the bolts too the cylinder?

My exhaust bracket support came apart at 60mph, didn't realize it for several miles, no damage done but I might have been just lucky. Weicome to the forum!

put them on and trailer it to get it inspected and trailer it back home. There is no law saying you have to ride it to get it inspected.

Welcome to the site PUMP and I have had my rear bracket off and the pipes were supported alright by their mounting to the heads. But i never rolled down the road. Pipes on and off aint too much of a bitch, I'd bolt em on and see how it feels. Take a short slow ride and see if they will hang, or you can try some temp rig, bent bolt, dunno without seeing how much of a misalignment you now have. I would figure the stock exhaust would bolt back on. Good luck and again welcome.
