I would swear that, long time ago, I saw a thread about this subject but after an hour of searching I cannot find it :bang:

Can someone, please, lead me to that thread or just simple explain to me how do you find out what chassis (frame) the bike has? Something about the VIN#?

Thanks guys.

Hummm... no, not this one... it was about frames... DT (Day Tech) or RT (Rolling Thunder)

Also, this must be for 05 & earlier models as for my VIN# it wouldn't make sense... my VIN# is 5J1 1BJ13 6W 000516 Accordingly to these explanations I would have a 107 motor and I am not, I have a 117 motor in my 06 K9.

Thanks anyway.

well, two things for sure, if you have a K9 it's not earlier than an '06 and it does have a 117 unless somebody swapped it out for a 107.

I'm not sure about the '06 but here's what the BDMPP site says about the '07...

I would think yours is the same.

Yup, I managed to find out, it is a DT.

Now, just curiosity... is this a good, bad thing or it doesn't matter? Is there anything in particular we should be aware of in these frames?

Thanks guys.

Sorry Franco I couldn't help myself. I am sure it doesn't matter, however it is good to know when you buy parts especially neck bearings, my two cents worth.

Yeah Carlos, that´s exactly why I needed to know... for when buying parts. I saw the Battery covers (to mention some) are different for both frames too.
