How many miles did your Baker 6speed last ?

Energy One

I just wanta ride
Did rebuild at 2500 and replaced main shaft because I didn't want to end up on side of the road. 15000 miles and all is good. I should say the rebuild was due to the former owner didn't do a service bulltin #1090 (countershaft bolt upgrade) and caused a small issue so I just had it rebuilt.

03 chopper- 24,000 and counting. Nothing but change the oil for engine, trans, and primary, and do the everyday maintenance stuff. Love my Dog. Things happen, and I may need help finding what it is from you guys, but its my every day ride when its not pouring or snowing.

07 K9 - main shaft broke about 7,000. BDM gave me new tranny under warranty. Bearings started going less than a year later (had to be defective bearing). Sent it to Baker. Did a rebuild and only charged me 80 bucks for parts...no labor. Thanks Baker!!!!!
20k on it now. No problems

Sounds to me like Baker might have changed suppliers sometime in 2005, and started seeing some issues with them. Seems they might not have caught the problem until 2008.

Might be a interesting to keep this going and do a cause failure analysis on this.
