How many miles did you put on your dog?

I was looking on Ebay at Big Dogs for sale and noticed almost all of them have less than 10k on them. A lot under 5k. Is it because:

1- They are in the shop most of the time?

2- These are the guys who bought one to look "cool" but trailer them all over?

3- Have another bike for everyday riding?

I put around 1,000 miles a month on my bikes (I'm in Fl so I can ride year around) but even if you live up North you still have around 5 good months to ride.

How many miles did you put on your Dog since you bought it and in how long a time?

Thanks just curious......

Atleast 3 k a summer that's with no big trips that year here in mid Michigan. Some years not even 5 months riding season.

Once the snow finishes melting here in West Michigan, I plan I getting some serious seat time:2thumbs:.

Having 4 running bikes that I enjoy riding keeps the mileage down. One Triumph is over 30K miles while my wife's Triumph is around 5K. My other two bike are over 10K which includes the Dog.

Same here, I rotate out the three scoots. When I only had one I was putting 10,000 miles a year on the one but, as stated now just over 3 K between the three...:D

I bought my pup with 10.2k mikes. I put 7k on the first year. Now the OD is just over 30k. Bought her in 2011.

When I first bought my dog in April 2008, I put about 8,000 a year on it. At that time I had 2 bikes and 2 cars. Now my job makes me travel sometimes, but I put about 700 miles a month on it. I now have 1 bike and 1 car though.

It varies, but it is not different than any other bikes. Seen many a HD with more than a few years on them with less then 10k. My Mastiff is pushing over 30k right now and I also have a few others bikes to split the mileage. That and I have spent quite a bit of time away in far off lands for the last 10 years.

Still on average, when time allows, average close to 1000 miles a month between the bikes.

Cool, it looks like you are a biker. I guess the Ebay thing is like the gold/silver market. When prices go down a little all the weak hands sell and everyone who really believes in it stays put. (BD goes under and they sell) I guess a lot of "wannabee" bikers bought the best looking bikes on the market only to find out they can't ride them or are scared to ride them and now BD is out of business they are on Ebay.

I'm a 3K to 5K a year rider. I have a feeling that number is going to go way up once my K9 is delivered.

I bought my first DOg in may 08 and had 56K miles on it when it was totaled in july,2013.

My current dog came with 1515 miles on it and I'm over 8K already (and it was a rough winter this year)

So for me about 10K a year.
