I gfuess that "if you want to shot, shot . dont talk" so i am going for it/ and as for the look, yes its cool, butI would love to feel the road on a hard tail. No 2 up here. all my 2 up would be done on my road glide.

I also have no regrets and not a problem riding a 2008 Ridgeback. I will be 52 this year and can ride as far as it gets boring for me and I get sleepy.

60 years old,6'1", 250lbs. Came from a 2000 flsts. The front end feels the same as the springer and it handles the same except for the turn radius. Dont mind the hardtail feel love the dog. Have seat maker redo the seat is a must as the stock ones are like sitting sideways on a fence.

I went from hard tail to softail and now have a k9. The hardtail definatly is fun when you are excelerating because the suspension has no give and the tire just hooks up, on the softail the rear is contantly moving up and down under exceleration. The softail rides like a caddy comparable and does absorb the bumps so my back does not.
I did have one incedent on the freeway on the hardtail that I ended up looking at the speedo really close after hitting a pothole I could not aviod. After I landed back in the seat and pulled over and cleaned out my drawers I finished the trip.

I've been riding for more than 40 years, but never had a chopper until '05 when I bought my first Big Dog. It was a kick in the nuts when I pulled out of the dealer and found out it's a whole new ball game in leaning and turning, I ended on the curb across the street. I'm 63 years old, 6'1", 185.
I waited till about 1AM and went to the local Super Walmart for the parking lot to empty out, spent a couple of hours on it in a less traveled spot.
I'm now on my '07 Big Dog chopper and wouldn't go back to anything else.
Give it a little thought, and a little practice you'll do fine.:up:

True Story;
I've been riding for about 40 years, but never a bike with any stretch.
Moved from N.Y. here to Vegas in '05 and knew my riding season would be greatly extended
I went looking for something different, and found a new '05 Big Dog Chopper at the local dealer had everything I wanted to ride everyday.
Plopped down the money came back the next day to pick up the bike.
When leaving the dealer I had to come out of his driveway and make a left turn on a main, and very busy street. Not having any second thoughts I proceeded out of his parking lot and ended up on the curve straight across the street.
I had no idea how to handle this type of bike.
I waited until midnight that night found a Super Walmart parking lot that was pretty well empty and for about two hours did nothing but familiarize myself with how to turn and lean the bike.
I now have my second Dog an '07 Chopper, just turned 34k miles and don't think I would ever ride anything else.
This may work for you too. Try it you'll like it!!! :2thumbs::2thumbs:

I test rode a K9 and a Ridgeback back to back... I actually preferred the Ridgeback and I did not think that I would ever own a rigid.
