No the Cobra is an AC Cobra produced by Carroll Shelby. It's a two seater racer that was popular in the 1960's. I've got a big block 460 crate engine in it rated at 550hp. It's a monster.

I uploaded a photo into "My Biker Photos", but it's "Pending Approval". Check it out later.

Well I got in a little drag race with my buddy on his K9 today.(Happens everytime we ride) Wide open Nevada straightaway for miles. 4th gear rapped out, 5 th gear rapped out and the speedo was beyond pegged and we shifted into sixth and still had it matted. He claimed we hit 4500-5000 rpm in sixth. I didn't look down after shifting into sixth. I would guess 140-150. Things shake alot and get blurry.:D I got him by a few lengths. We get to the next stop and one of his inner primary bolts had fallen out and the side of the bike was drenched with primary oil. Took the top bolt out and put it in the bottom. Took care of most of the leak. We road about 140 miles today. Mid fifties and was about all I can take. Did I tell you how much I love the heat.:hi:
OK. Vegas, I'm glad you had this experience. Because, I was out checking out Lola after my adventure to high speed land and have discovered this oil on the right side of my motor. I'm thinking OH SHIT....then I read your message and it's all making sense now. Easy fix. I figured it was an ez fix, but didn't know what it was. I like blurry....but perhaps that was from the beer stops you refer to later in this post! Keep it upright and wound tight!

My VERY FAVORITE CAR ON THE PLANET is the 69 Camaro. You're growing on me Vegas even after that initial crap you gave me in my first intro post! I had a 71 Camaro. Had 10" wide Mickey Thompsons, was lowered, 327 original motor with a Holly carb and had IROC fender flares on it. My dad and I built it as my first car. Can you guys tell that my dad wanted a boy and got this danged girl?

Well you got me thinking. I'm a speed freak too, so I took my GPS with me headed for the freeway. Took a while to get an open section with no cars. She went up to 140 easily, but then I chickened out as I saw an entrance ramp loaded with cars coming up on the freeway. So I backed down.

The chopper is pretty quick, but not like my Cobra. I've had it up to 165. At 180 it comes off the ground. It'll do zero to 100 and back to zero in ten seconds. It's the coolest thing I can do with my clothes on. Get's me excited.

Drive safely and don't take too many chances.
Hey Cobra! Thanks for playing MythBuster for us! This info rocks. It's what I thought. It seems that it actually gets to 120 peg on the speedo far after the bike is there! PS...fabulous car. My first love is muscle cars. I was raised at dirt tracks. My dad raced all over the Midwest all of my life.

That is definitely the fastest I have been on a Big Dog. A few other times probably not alot slower. You will get some oil blowby on the pipes and battery cover especially if you are riding hard. The fluid on my friends K9 was due to a missing bolt. He is not known for taking care of his toys. He did take it in for the service and of course they didn't do a bolt check. He plans to do his own service which means he will be in my garage using my tools and more than likely I will end up doing most of it so I don't have to deal with all the questions. :D As long as he buys the beer it's all good.

I'm hoping blowby was all it was. I'll check it out and tighten everything up before heading out again. Keep up the right state of mind. It's all in the attitude and a great friend buying the beer! AS long as you keep doing all his work, you'll always have a riding partner!

Hey, TS. What can I say, you're a woman after my heart. Choppers, hot rods, dirt bikes. What a combination. I started riding on dirt bikes back in the 70's. Did 100 mile Enduro runs. Lots of fun. But the chopper and the Cobra are my loves.

I have had the Cobra for almost 10 years now and just love it. To me it's the ultimate street machine. Everyone gives it thumbs up. It's very respectable in a race too. I had it at Sebring last year. What fun.... I took it to Bike Night here in SW Florida one night and the guys went nuts over it. All they could say is, "light em up". I gave them a demo as I left. Cheers.

So you have chopper blood in your veins. What about your better half? What does he ride?

It should be out of paint this week so I'll forward you some pictures. I like the 2nd gen camaros and firebirds as well. You sound like one hell of a woman. I was at a gun range this weekend with a couple friends shooting some handguns and there was a really hot chick shooting a large handgun. We were talking about how that takes it up another level.

TS, you're a "hoot".   I'll bet your oil leak is just blowby. Feel the inside lower ledge of your breather-bet it's covered with oil. Mine did it until I changed breathers. :2thumbs:

All you guys with the newer style breathers out of the heads thru the hoses... run that rear breather to the floor. No more oil mess!

Puke Tank

I use a puke tank on mine to keep the oil from spilling all over the engine. I finally figured out I needed to resize the photo down. I have hi res photos.

So here's the puke tank I installed on the chopper. Works great and contains any blow from the heads.

So true, so true! Would love to see your car. They are truly a work of art! Sebring must have been a blast.

Enduros, that's what I rode in! Hours of mind boggling body bashing on a bike! Twas good times! I couldn't do it today. I'm certain a body part would fall off of me under that much energy exursion!

My "B word", as Chopper Dave calls him, rides a Heritage Springer. It's an awesome bike. We get some interesting attention together, cause his was built as a show bike and it's all old school, then there I pull up looking all Rolling Freakshow Girl on a chopper. It's very fun! Half like his style bike and the other half like mine. HOWEVER, he really has taken a liking to Big Dogs. His next bike may just be a K9.
