I agree at 120 plenty of power left. I have gone quite a bit faster once on my current dog and things started to feel a little funky to me. Once the needles around 115 I am done. It gets there so damn fast.:D
I here ya Vegas, things start gettin a little squirrely and then your just thinking to yourself, how long till I go down.

Hard to do 120 plus here in Mi dodging them pot holes.
Pot holes, traffic lights and slow traffic...

with those speeds I'd probably hit the other side of the island

we got no long sleepy roads here to hit those speeds but we got nice beach scenery to ride along :2thumbs:

How about that stretch on H-1 past Ft Weaver Rd. I used to open it up on that part of the highway. :D
Very short though.

yeah heading towards Waianae, nice stretch if you can catch it at the right time with no cars you could top it out, but the patrol is out on account of alot of sport bikes racing and the rash of motorcycle accidents recently...they're cracking down on all bikers even law abiding cruisers, I see a bike pulled over almost everyday....might have to put my baffles back in to stay legal. and blend in with the majority...NOT !!!! :2thumbs:

Oh yeah, ALOHA TSDAWG I didn't say hi in your introduction post...too damn long to read  , it would've gotten lost in there, so here it is :hi:

i don't know how you guys are running above 120? three of us have run ours with the speedo pegged on several differant times, and all of us had the same problems. the front end starts to float and then we started getting a front end wobble.. that i do not care for. Knightrider and I cruise at 90 +/- with no problems all the time, but above 120, i've quite trying to hold on to it. allthough knightrider did say the bike handled better at 120 with his girl friend on the back?

I hit 120 on the speedo once and all of a sudden there was a severe wabble - I had to throw away my underpants when I got home - I wonder if the tyre beads I just got from BDM may help that?? If not I wont be doing it again - unbelievably my cousin was riding my Heritage and he was right there with me at that speed

Hello!! Here in Oklahoma we have LOTS of LONG Highway Patrol-less road to open up on. Potholes aren't too much a problem on most roads, but NO NO I do NOT have the gorgeous beaches. Man...thanks for rubbing that in! I LOVE ALL ISLANDS AND BEACHES. I think in my first life I was an islander.

Skully, mine did the wobble just the other day, but it was when I started slowing back down. I don't know if I sped thru it speeding up and then did it coming back down, but it does NOT feel so fun! Mine always floats a bit starting about 90. Another weird thing, at 85 the gas tank shakes a lot til about 90 mph.

Knightriders' girlfriend would be more the maniac than the rest of us in this case!! She must really love you Knightrider or she beats you like a step child when you stop!

I'm with you Ray, barried the speedo a few times last summer in Montana, on my way to Sturgis. Could not tell how fast I was going but I had plenty of throttle and torque left when it read 120+.

Some side effects were a loosened top motor mount and cracked battery box cowling. Check that eveything is tight before trying anything like this.

I have a small portable GPS that calculates speed and may give that a try next summer.
AH HA! GPS is the answer. We can get the answer from HD LARRY! Remember to give us the results.

Believe this or not, but Knightriders girlfriend (Lori) is my furture wifes (Patty) sister, and we all ride together, from 0-120. the family that rides together gets there together.

no shit RIGHT!!

I have a pocket sized GPS as well that records top speed. use to use it on my sportbike all the time... saw well above 175 then... :D

I would say I will test it... but damn... that's the reason I got rid of the sportbike.... but maybe I could be swayed... or I'll just pass it to Cutter and let him try it! :D

Got mine up to 100 but my eyes were watering so bad couldn't see anymore. And I "WAS" wearing sunglasses. Lost them at about 96. And the wind was buffeting around my windshield was so bad I was starting to loose my grip on the handbars. I say I was doing 100, my speedometer was bouncing around to bad, I was either doing 80 or 120 not real sure. Not real sure if it was still pulling or I was loosing my grip.

Mick, got to get inside the "bubble". Dew rag low over your brow on top of your glasses. Face mask over your nose and lower part of your glasses. This seals up your face real good to wind, rain, bugs, and cold.
Only thing left to add is the tunes. An MP3 player piping in some Stones, Zepplin, The Who, and various others and you can ride all day (inside your bubble)! :D

Ah yes....Raywood...the boy in the BigDog Bubble! I'm a dew rag over my glasses wearer too! Gotta have the sunglasses with the foam around the eyes too or I get so many gas fumes in my eyes with my cut pipes, I look like a stoner. Not the look I'm going for! I can't wear goggles either. YUCKY..my eyes sweat! LOL
