I hit reserve in mixed town highway ride right at 100miles. Yesterday it was 95% freeway/highway and hit reserve at 128 miles. That's 42 miles per gallon with a bunch of hot rodding. I do have up to a full gallon for reserve, but that's only if it's topped off and I don't do that. My guess would be it's about a .5 gallon reserve that would get me 20-30 miles max.

I'm averaging 35 mpg, which seems a bit low? It's still prettycold here in WI though. I've heard they run a different formula for gasoline here in the winter time. Maybe that has something to do with it. My last bike had an 88 cu. in. S&S, and I got 50 mpg with hot rodding. But I didn't exactly buy the BD for good gas milage.:D

One Friend had a 650 Suzuki something another friend had a Honda VTX 1800 and me on my lttle ol Big Doggy K9 traveled from Lubik to Whitchital Falls TX and the Dog made the both of them get the pucker factor when we went a little over 150 miles before we finally pulled into a gas station. They both were riding on fumes and I hadn't even switched on the reserve. (Ha, I laugh at dem) The 6 speed baker really does the trick .At times we were going at least a buck 10 (dat would be 110 mile MPH to youse rookies) an soaking in the sights. We are originally from Richmond VA but were in Texas for School with the air force( we be in the Virginia Air National Guard) Man I lovethose long straight Texas roads (so does the Dog). Hope to hit the midwestern roads again in the near future.

Like I said....... The best that I have seen out of my 03 Chopper is 86 miles before I have to switch to reserve. Not quite sure how far I can get on reserve. Never chanced it yet. Anyone know approximately how much gas is in the reserve?

I start to get real nervous at 100 miles, so I top it off. I don't trust the reserve & I am too old to push the dam thing. I might want to add; I am still young enough to "HONK" on it, and I do ride hard.

Chopper and early Ridgeback tank is 3.8 gl with .4 in reserve. I've made it to 151 miles at the most and as little as 90 at the worst. Just depends on conditions.

Haha sorry
the bike only has 186 miles on it.
I have toped it off twice. Doing the math I am only getting 27.4 mpg

I hope this clears it up.

118 was latest I noticed. Usually start looking for gas station or flipping to reserve at around 100.

I don't know yet, but I need to find out. I just went for a ride over the weekend and ran out of gas. I would guess around 125 miles, but I can tell you this; the reserve sucks. I got no more than a mile before it quit again, and that was it. Not having a fuel guage really sucks. Is there a way to install one on a 2005 Ridgeback?

Another round please

Yes, at 100 miles, stop and get gas. :whoop::cheers: It only goes as far as it it has fuel.
