Well as a K9 dog newbie...I did run out of gas once so far....I got to around 130 miles when it happened...lol....thank God my wife was behind me, it was right after church....Anyway...got allot of thumbs up waiting on the side of the road for my wife to get the gas can..lol..Didn't help that I had the valve open to reserve the intire time....opps....daaaaa...now I have it in the right position..lol....ah what can ya do....it is what it is...

Now I reach 100 miles and start to look for a gas station...lol...a retro fit gas gauge would be awesome..lol..

For some reason it gets about 85 miles out of a tanik. At 80, if I go that far without getting gas, I start shaking, lol because my reserve gives me about a 1/8 of a mile!

I am averaging 120 mile to a tank at 75-80 mph on my 05 Chopper with pipes and exhaust. After that a quick switch to the reserve and then I start hunting around for a gas station nearby.

I get 175 to 200 depending on ride, which is more then I have been getting in past not sure why.

Got a Pro Tip here that will help you get better miles per gallon:
Go faster, cause the faster you go, the better the miles per gallon gets.
I do not mean the jackrabbit starts or the throttle on/throttle off kiddie crap. I mean roll on the power and hold it there for a few hours. At 110 mph, we get about 55 mpg, And that is with camping gear, on both an '05 choppa and an '06 Mastiff riding heel to toe.:2thumbs:

On my '09 K9, I was at 123 miles when I filled up yesterday and it took 3.6 gallons which means I could have gone another 25 miles without hitting reserve.
So...about 150 miles or so. :2thumbs:

Yesterday I had 97 miles and filled the tanks with 1.9 gal. Equals 51.1 miles to gal. Riding with a group of old people that never got over 55. But lately I have been getting 45 to 47 per gal on this x-wedge. That's traveling steady at 70 mph.

I ran out of gas last week with 73 miles on the tank. I switched to reserve but the gas wouldn't flow. Probably 'casue I haven't pulled all the CA emissions crap off the bike yet. I've just been lazy about doing it. On the highway I'm get about 120. I've only had the bike a couple of months and the motor isn't broken in yet.

I made the 200 mile mark one time, when the bike was new & stock set up, & WAY TOO LEAN!!! since then I avg. 120-140 miles on a tank. Just a few mods. Like exhaust, breather, & cam.
