how can i tell

Hey guys and gals. I am a real new guy here, My K-9 ships on the 28th and I am planning to get a set of big radius, several people have told me to get the new ones the old ones scraped the ground in a turn.. My question is how can I tell if I am getting the new ones is there a part number change or is it just manufacturing date?? I do really like this site, Just need to know how to change my password also. thanks again for any help..Mike also how do I pin my location??

I'm not sure how to tell the old ones from the new - I'm sure one of the dealers on here (or your local dealer) can get the specifics. I got mine in March of 2007, and they were the new ones way back then.

You can pin your location by looking along the top row of clicky links - fourth from the left is MAP.

some of the people on here get a kick out of scraping them! especially at night! by the way, they are not the only pipes that will scrape if you like to get into the bends

The original BR Pipes were much worse, though - I do still scrape the pegs - keeps 'em pointy sharp.

Man, I had planned on getting a set of BR for my Deuce, "before it was stolen" I really like them and I know everyone has them but I just like how they flow.. thanks I dd take a look but once I get something in my head its hard to change my mind.....Now for the big question can anyone tell me which alarm works best with these pups??????

About the pipes - get what YOU want, regardless of what everyone else thinks. If you really like the BR's, get 'em and think of it as a phase you gotta go through - not something you have to live with the rest of your life. There's a reason why so many people have 'em - they look great. Later when you feel a little more adventurous, go wild with something else.

About the alarm - Scorpio is a popular choice, because it has two way communication between the alarm on the bike, and a key fob that works like a TV remote control. If someone disturbs the bike, it not only makes a racket (which most people ignore anyway), it also transmits a signal to your key fob, to let you know it's YOUR bike that's being screwed with.

They went through 3 versions of the pipes - I had all 3. The most recent was released in May 07 and includes a different frame bracket also. Unfortunately, there is no way of telling by looking at the pipes, as they are not stamped with a part number or ID number. Since the latest pair, I have not rubbed. The only thing I would suggest is to buy them from someone who has a return policy, like a dealer, and will guarantee they are the newest version - that way if you bottom out, they will replace them.
