Good Morning!

How can I keep a small section of my clutch cable from melting from my pipes being to close? it's the section between the housing and exhaust bracket that I'm concerned about. there is only a 1/4 inch of clearance. Cheap quick fix??? Thanks for your help. see pic...

Seems like a piece of exhaust shield (that aluminum coated insulation) would do it. I would also be extra vigilant of lube in the cable. Heat will dry it out and you don't want broken cables.

Any auto store will have that exhaust wrap.

Maybe you can mount a heat sheild on the inside of your pipes. It wouldn't be that noticable to other people and your cable will be fine.

Had similar problem on another ride. covered the section with silver heat tape (like used in appliances or electricla work)....no problems
