Is there a reason why BD doesn't give a HP rating (insurance I'm guessing)? It seems other manufactures don't have a problem doing it. I have an 04 Mastiff with a 107 and have always heard it's around 100 but have never had it dynoed. Can someone shed some light on the subject and if you have any actual HP figures to share that would be nice.

Thanks

I always thought BDM was embarased how little HP/TQ the 2005 and newer BDM bikes made, compaired to displacement. This is mostly caused by EPA requirements. The other problem is that the manufactures that list HP/TQ numbers seem to use different standards to come up with there numbers. So to me the numbers are hard to use because they are not all based from the same standards.

Unless you can find an independent 3rd party to do all the testing I wouldn't put a lot of confidence in the numbers.

Not sure if they are still testing all the bikes but Motorcycle Consumer News Magazine used to be one that I would trust. Mainly because they did there own testing and did not accept advertising money from anyone.
