My wife and I had the opportunity to ride down to the Texas Hill Country this past weekend with a group of riders we met a couple of years ago. Some of you may know the area as The Twisted Sisters. My lovely wife decided to go ahead and ride her Fat Boy while I took the Mastiff. Here they are loaded and ready to go.

We had a great time of it most of the weekend. She decided she didn't want to ride the Sisters on Saturday, so we left the Dog at the hotel and took the HD. I was fine with that because it was our first time there. It also gave her a great chance to take some awesome pictures.
Here we are just before hitting the twisties:

And here are some from the ride.

It is absolutely beautiful countryside with some seriously good riding. The hills and curves definitely demand your attention. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a good destination ride.
Now for all those naysayers about Big Dogs, let me tell you the Mastiff performed beautifully. I will admit, I lost my headlight on the way to the hotel on Friday, but was able to do a repair Saturday night with a wire splice. No big deal. My plastic socket had never been replaced and it shorted on me with all the vibration. OK, we were running around 80 with some bursts up around 100 getting down there.
Just having a little fun on the back roads. I do have the Wire Plus, but no other alterations to the electricals.
That said, we rode home Sunday for almost 9 hours in the rain at about 50 degrees. The bike ran great and started right up after every fuel stop! These things are built to run!! :2thumbs:
I also have to say I am incredibly proud of my wife. She has only been riding about 3 years and doesn't put in nearly as many miles as me. She rode her bike home through the crappy weather and never complained once. It's hard to describe how grueling that was unless you've been there. In fact, she was talking about how she will ride the Sisters herself the next time we go!
I don't think she can call herself a beginner anymore.
To give you an idea, here is what a Dog looks like when it's been rode hard and put away wet.

No trailer queens here. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
Ride on and be safe!!
