Those downtube stickers take away about 20 horsepower!

It looks comfy...not my style, but looks comfy!

Rob, im not a very good wrench but can you explain how downtube stickers will cause me to lose 20 horsepower?

OK, here it goes...

If the speed of the object (with the sticker) increases but the circumference is doubled (frame tube), the angular velocity (degrees or radians of the angle covered by the radius connecting the object to the centre or thickness of sticker) will become double its earlier value. Its period for each rotation will become triple its earlier value and will eventually slow the foward velocity of the forgoing molecules.

On the other hand, if its angular velocity has to remain unchanged (constant), it has to move at double the velocity in the tangential direction. Its period of rotation will remain same .

I hope things are a little clearer now and I hope I have not added more confusion.

To make it really simple, the stickers are real ugly... and actually, they just make the bike look like it has 20 less horsepower :2thumbs::roll:

Jake,
I do not completely understand the jargon but I'm assuming stickers are referring to the bars? Yes I know they are not very pretty which is the reason I chose these universal bars. Can be removed easily after my trip across western Europe if needed. Here in Europe even with the ugly (stickers) this bike is jaw dropping at every rally. I'll post more pics when the weather is better. Thanks for the input.

Too good bud.

Black Rider, we're not talking about the bars...whatever you like. We're just teasing you about the downtube stickers.

Awwwww you guys are crazy!!!!!! had me worried for a minute. So is it custom to remove the stickers? I am still learning... Actually when I was mounting the bars I took such care not to scratch the damn stickers....
Please school me on these things... What is the best way to remove the stickers and where do you put them? Trash or other place on the bike?

This forum is great... First I got the Dakota.... then Jake's version of wire plus which I will be installing very soon.... now stickers!!!!!:flag:

You should be able to pull the stickers off with out much trouble and keep them in one piece. I choose to stick mine on another piece of paper for safe keeping just in case I needed them. The only thing to clean up afterwards is some of the residue left over which is easy enough to clean.

Thanks for the info. I'm taking them off.......Yes I was worried because if I ever sell the bike or ship it back to the USA I need to make sure customs will not give me problems.:flag:

Don't forget that the stickers add surface area which raises wind resistance:D And the Highway bars are even worse for wind resistance. Sometimes "Less is More":D
