High speed wobble

Just wondering if its just my Mutt due to rake, if its common to all of us, or if its something wrong with my scoot, but when I open her up to run wide open I get a wobble in the tree??? not a fast hard tank slap kind of wobble but but its definitely there and very uncomfortable. It usually occurs over 80 mph and seems to smooth out a little at 95+... The front tire is excellent condition with no cupping and the front bearings in the tree turns smooth with no dead or rough spots. Just wondering your thoughts???

I guess I can just keep it at about 100mph and not worry about it huh!

had that problem on my k9 and what seems to fixed the problem is to tighten the tree bolt. never had a problem since and i sometime hit it hard like 125 plus miles.

my buddies mutt had a wicked wobble at about 85. I was next to him when it happened on my chopper and it scared us both! It has only done it the one time and now he has a bent rim. we think he hit something in the road.

There is no torque setting for the lower tree adjust. It's adjusted to a frontend fall away spec which I don't know at this time.

Fall away is adjusted with front wheel off the floor I think.

Was the wobble due to the bent rim or did he bend it after he noticed the wobble?

I made some adjustments to the tree bolt so I'll if that makes a difference.

I had a wobble on the highway with my K9 and it was worn out riser bushings. I replaced them with poly and she is nice and smooth on the highway now.

We think he hit something and that started the wobble. He says no issues since even though he still has dented rim.

RIDE IT HARD!!!
this may sound silly to some of you guys but...make sure you have the right air pressure in the front tire, this has been known to cause a wobble problem in the front end.

Another thing I would check is balance. It can create a wobble/shake at a given speed that you will drive thru as you increase speed. Jake sells Dyna Beads that work great.

I got down and took a real close look at the front rim and sure enough... I found a very slight flat spot in the rim! :bang: I know exactly what road its from.... and that's the damn road I take to my favorite bar!!!!!!!!! :bang:

It could be worse.. I could be unable to ride!

So I went ahead and tightened the head bolt and that took care of my shimmy! :whoop: smooth as silk all the way through! The slight bend in the rim still bugs me but at least the shimmy / high speed tank slap is taken care of.
