High Beam Shutting Off!

While riding I'll switch on the high beam and then the high beam shuts off automatically in 2-3 seconds. It happens every time. It only does it when bike is running.

On my Dog, if the low beam goes out, the high comes on. If both filaments break, the blue high beam indicator flashes. I would change the bulb. Something may be wrong with the high beam filament when running with vibration from the engine.

while you are in there, check out the socket, if that looks ok, go farther under the tank and check out the undersized JST connector. has caused problems before. if it is bad, just cut it out and solder the wires back together, it was only there to aid in production.

20-30 miles from home I noticed the high beam indicator flashing rapidly. When I got my destination I noticed I had no headlight at all. I changed the bulb and noticed no burned filament. And now when I press the high beam switch the bulb flashes as long as I hold the switch in. I only have one light wofking, not sure if high or low beam. Check the control or further back in the wiring as Old Fart suggested? Thanks to the few of you who had suggestions!

Mine did same. Flashed..meaning one of the hi or low is out (possibly connection prob and not bulb due to vibration). Other time it was bulb...
if it stays on blue means u have NO LIGHT...

Thanks Prairiehorse. Brand new bulb in and still flases,so I'm guessing it's a connection issue. Does anyone else ever get tire of always tracing the wiring for connection issues???

I never got tired and thought it was challenging. I have been bored for a long time cause I haven't had any issues with my Dog. Just regular boring maintenance.:D

Ker,the socket was not melted. I had an extra socket (new) that I installed...issue still exists. Could it be a stator or VR issue? Or more likely a wiring issue elsewhere?

What's happening at the EHC? What lights come on when you go to high beam and it switches to low beam? Does the high beam fault light illuminate on the EHC?
