Was riding my 05 Ridge Back today and my high beam indicator was going on and off without me touching the high beam switch. Now it stays on all the time, even if I try to switch it off????:job:

Big Dog Rod- this happened to me too (I have an 05 ridgeback) about two weeks after I bought my bike used last august. My light stopped working.. I pulled the head lamp apart and found the same thing, a fried wire.

There is a recall on some of the '05 bikes. I took it to my dealer and they re-wired and fixed it up completely for free. They really took care of me. Call your local dealer or service center, they can tell you if you need the recall work done.

Talked to the local BD dealer today. They said the fix for the headlight plug melting was a plug kit. My question was why is it melting......they could not answer this. I e-mail BD and will update when I get an answer back. But the dog is fixed. I wired in a new plug and got a new H4 headlight from local parts store.

Got an e-mail back from BD (Richard Romero / Field Support Engineer) and he said the wattage of the H4 bulb can't be more that 55/60 He said if it is high it will cause the plug to burn. He also said if the terminals are loose in the housing this can cause the plug to overheat.
