Hi Guys I hope someone can help me I bought this BDM 03 chopper and it has a HI Tech primary drive system on it, now first I havent seen anyone else using this system. I do however see the Karata on alot of bikes. so now i will get to the problem iam having, when iam at idol it is loud as hell sounds like it is just slapping around or even clanking like the engine was out off oil. now i asked a guy at a bike shop and he said it was normal cause it had a dry clutch plates inside and they move agaist each other? so is this correct or shold i be concerned. is there anything I can do? or should I look at changing it out all together??

do you have the centrifical type pressure plate.. (pressure increases with rpm) if so thay make more noise.. the weights will rattle @ low rpm.. if you got the spring or diaphram style I dont know....shouldnt make that much noise

Any change in belt tension as the revs decrease? Prolly worth checking the run-out on the pulleys...

Sounds like your problem may be clutch rattle as Eric stated. I've heard some loud bikes out there running different belt drives and boy they're clutches are loud while sitting at stop lights...

RIDE IT HARD!!!
Normal....the clutch basket acts like a bell. Some are louder than others but normal for a dry clutch set up.
