Man, I love my bIke but dang. Got the recent muffler issue fixed replaced the plugs which were solid black. Took it on about a 2 hour ride at night in the cold. Had been running fine. Now it has gone back to spitting. last time this happened the intake seals were bad. they were replaced. now it seems like it is doing it again. already got a set of replacement seals plan to put them on tonight but sombdy said I really need to make sure the carb is tuned. he said he thought the bike was getting to much fuel. any suggestions. thanks in advance.

Check the intake gaskets by using brake clean or carb cleaner and lightly spray a mist parallel to the intake on each cylinder. If the bike dies then you have a gasket leak. If it just slows the engine a little your gaskets are ok !

Super easy to adjust the "Super G" carb, I have never had a problem with mine, but you may wanna consider going with the Mikuni like Johnathan has, I've heard good things about them.

remember if spark plugs were BLACK - you are running to rich. If you replaced plugs may run OK until you foul out the plugs again. S&S carb. are easy to adjust like other have said. you can get direction straight from S&S web site.

I agree, but I had a problem with my exhaust, had to replace exhaust gaskets, think that is what caused the problem. gonna run it for awhile and check them again. if they turn black again will probably change to a mikuni (sp?)

Alright, update puts me right back to square one. replaced the flange. everything was good. took it on a two hour ride. definetly cold outside, the bike started to spit again. check to see if flange had broke again, nope. checked the plugs to see if they were fouled, nope. I am at a loss for words on this one. no I have not done the carb yet. but I did not have any problems after the intake seals were replaced I don't understand what could have changed?:mad::mad:

Adjust your carb, it is very simple to do, then go from there..
