Hey Folks Been a while ,,

Hope everyone is doing great,, I have been recovering from surgery on my arm and wrist,, back at work now. Still have the ole dog covered up in the garage, with a bit of saw dust on the cover, new hobby , cnc router, it is as addicting as any drugs I ever did years ago, none since 2nd week of January 1977! If I am not carving , I am possibly thinking of something new to carve,, learning as well.
Back to the ole Dog... The last time I rode it I noticed the battery stinking a little . I checked it out and one of the post is a bit fried, melted. It was not dirty at all, maybe a little film of oily stuff on it. Anyway I took it out and put it on a charger. It sat almost all winter and the battery was at 90% to start with, and back at 100% very quick.
I was wondering if we get any discounts on Braille battery anymore ??? I really don't want to put this battery back in it knowing it might be an issue miles from home, and or burn it down,, .
By the way a friend of mine ,, had a battery charger in a garage, explode and burn the garage to a point where everything has to be rebuilt, and replaced.. I unplug the chargers after use now.. just a thought..

Appreciated folks ,,,, I was impressed with the battery I got a long time ago,,, figured it would be barely limping along,,, but it came on strong,, actually very impressed ,

I just have a bad feeling of putting the battery with semi melted post back in it.. so I am off to search for the best price,,,

I have found out the hard way loose battery cables will cause melted terminals.. x2 welcome back. Nice work with the router..

I totally agree with HMAN ! you could probably also get some thick acrylic plastic and start cutting out some BigDog things with the lights in them.

Appreciate the comments on the wood,, I didn't get a Braille Battery either,,. The same battery I have new is $363 bucks but it did have 426 CCA... I did a little searching and found a wicked battery on Amazon from Arizona with 500 CCA for tax and all , $163 bucks,, but shhhuuuu , II looked at my old battery in better lighting and the post were not really melted as much as a little spot on the plastic in that area,,, don't tell the wife,, it is very , very possible the old battery is good to go.. I'll try this new battery and I have an extra,, that is as strong as a mule .. she says I am a hordder anyway ..
I'll see about carving some stuff with Big Dog in it,, maybe a ridgeback with an old bearded guy with a pony tail that has not had a hair cut in let's say 8 years ,, I was challenged a long time ago,, the boss of me says that was a joke! It is not funny anymore!

I put the the renegade battery in it, the new one that is is was impressed, with it and the ole scooter. It had not been started since back in October. 500cca battery,. I usually blow a little either in it after it has not been running in so long. The battery cranked it quick, and it fired up and ran on the 3rd crank. those cables might have been barely lose for a while,, rattling windows again ... Don't tell anyone in the law enforcement field,,, I then "Broke" the law!!!!! The wife had taken my grand daughter to star bucks,, so no one at home to say ,,, Ray , please don't break the law , you old rebel red neck! I rolled the ole scooter out of the garage, turned my Daniel Defense hat around backwards, and took off through the neighborhood with no helmet! Went down to the turn around and came back home ,, fully expecting the swat team to be waiting for me as I rolled it back in the garage.

I had a very good and close friend lose the battle with covid. I got to talk to him the afternoon he went to the hospital. We all need friends like my friend Paul. too many times he would just show up when he found out I was in over my head with about anything, the best chevy mechanic I know, and could fix, work on anything.
we are still not doing any more than possible gathering with a bunch of people.. The soreness in my haqnd and arm is easing up,, but I am olddddd,
