So…. I’m a stupid busy man, running your own business is no joke… God has blessed me with it as well as patience! But I still haven’t forgotten about my garage art. So years ago I did all this work to my engine and got all the specs from S&S as if it was a crate engine, swapped out the cam to 600 they sell their crates with, did the heads as they specified, had to bore it out cuz jugs were oblong, so there some Carillo pistons in it and she was a champ for many years. 2 1/2 years ago I was doing a burn out and she started smoking and woke up the next day to oil coming out of my front head through the exhaust into the garage floor. Bike has been parked since then. I rode her about 8-12k miles a year. Started my own business and really didn’t have time for her so she sat. A while back I started tearing her down and figured I’d give her a complete make over. Well I painted her yellow, still didn’t do all the engine work and the more and more I looked at her, the yellow was just too much so I went back to black. But threw a blue flake in the clear. So I plan on having her up and going by the months end. Just got the tins back and they look good. But on another note, I do mis the gatherings and I’ve been out of the loop sooo long, I think I was told they don’t happen no more. I know Dave has his thing and so on, I really miss visiting with all of you and riding the country side together. So let me figure out how to navigate this site since it was changed (another reason I disappeared) lol.. and see if there is still a section for gatherings etc.

Welcome back. As long as I’m able and as long as everyone still wants to ,there will always be a gathering at the farm. I don’t even care if we able to ride .

So far I've made it to Dave's in Arkansas, Knothead's in Tennessee, and the resort in Kansas, and In my humble opinion the gatherings at Dave's and Knothead's have been my favorites. They seem to be more relaxing and down to earth. Some of my fondest memories are from Knothead's and Dave's

Well well, I need to get back in the swing and get out there.. just ordered some stuff from Donna and Derick and from Curtis, so Dahlia will be back up and going by next week I hope

Okay y’all, it’s about time to finally get her back together, just got my heads back from Caulk racing, polished and all that stuff. Jugs back and Carillo pistons… just took the rear wheel off tonight so I can take it down and get it changed out and I should have her fired up by tomorrow and then we shall all meet up again… just got reminded from a buddy, that it’s been almost four years!!!

Okay, so Curtis seems lost and I got the lifters (tapets) from him. What are the lifters you get to upgrade the factory lifters for this thing where you have to do 4 turns blah blah for adjustment?

It has been like 6 years or so since I have done any engine work to this bike and I feel like I’m learning all over again, trying to remember how to adjust the push rods etc. it’s mind blowing because I have done all the work to the bike myself and I couldn’t even figure out which jug went where last night until I realized they could only go on spot lol.

Did youi check for any intake leaks?
Is your timing set right?
Is it getting ENOUGH fuel

So, I’m not gonna lie, I’m a diesel mechanic, I mean I have done everything myself on this bike since the beginning, but I wouldn’t know how to check timing, and as far as fuel, I even tried some either in the air cleaner and all she did was throw a few flames out the tail pipe lol.

This is older style ignition system… pretty much pre-05’ big dog if I’m not mistaken… when I got it, it had a chrome cover and I found out from Shannon that this one would fit and so I threw it on, believe I got it from him as well..
