BMARCHANT,
It looks like the bag wont fit on our left side on this web sight. It is a lot wider that the Reapers..Might not fit in front of our tags. Reapers is thinner..

Does anyone thing the axl cap will hold the weight of the tag bracket so i can get a larger solo bag on the left side.

Reaper,
That bag looks great. So much in fact that I'm getting one from these guys.

Swingarm Bag, Solo Bag, Rigid Frame, Bobbers, Choppers, Hardtails, Softails, Leatherworks 312 Chopper Bag, Single sided Saddlebags

They even show one on a 2004 Big Dog Chopper. I'm going with the left side.

Hi Bmarchant,
I think you are going to find it won't fit on the left side of your bike. That's the deal with this bag, it's custom made to fit on the left side of our bikes to compensate for the license plate bracket. Look at the width of the one pictured on my bike, and then look at the width of the one you have pictured.

Right but I am talking about moving the plate bracket back to the axle cap.Which will give me more then enough room.

Actually, thats why I have an email in to the company. The website says

Plain 312LHD Chopper Bag (L=Left Side, HD=high end to the front, like Softail picture above) MEASURES 10"x11.5"x3" : comes as a single bag - Make sure to note the Make, Model & year bike on the order form Can not be used with left side mounted license plate, must put bag on right side and visa-versa - can not move license plate (order the spots and conchos in step two).

Not sure why spots and conchos would make it work, but I'll find out. I'm hoping they email me today. I'll post the response once they email me.

UPDATED.....

They made the smaller bag for a Big Dog dealer(I'm guessing that was you Reaper). Same price. When you order on-line, put in the special instructions section that you want the smaller bag for the left side license. Also, let us know if you want one buckle strap or two, like in the photo http://www.sideroadcycles.com/ImportedMotorcycles/Leatherworks/312_Chopper_Bag.html

Yes, I know what they are talking about. I recently made the 312 with the mentioned dimensions for a Big Dog dealer and the customer posted it on the forum. So, yes it can be done. The picture on the forum shows it with 2 straps, we decided to change it to one. Still has the nickel and for right now I am leaving the price the same as the 312 and think we ought to stick with 3" depth and not the 5". Also don't have a picture yet, when I did it I didn't have a clue what it was for or where it was going so didn't take a picture. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Reaper,
Just wanted to thank you. I was able to contact the people that made yours, and they are making me one for my 2003 Chopper, for the left side with the license plate, smaller then the standard bag so it fits. I posted the details above if others are interested too.

I'll let you guys know how it fits once I get it.

Agrees with everyone else reaper, that just adds to your bike, when we are wondering if anything else would make it look any better. You have done it again, really looks great as always. :2thumbs:

Wonders about that ultra clean issue!
Do you just roll it out of the living room, just on sunny days, calm winds, after the dew is gone, and take pictures of it then roll it back in the house? :)

You have the ultimate ride, ultra clean , and ultra everything else a scooter should be, bar none.

My opinion of course! :2thumbs:

Thank you Ray, I appreciate the kind comments, and glad you like the bike. Basically what I do is after every ride no matter how long, I completely clean the bike so it looks great for the next ride.

I also find that it is easier to clean if you don't let dirt, and bugs build up on it. I will be honest, I don't like cleaning it, but I don't like cruising around on a dirty bike even more.

Thank you again.
