Hi everyone, I need help. I have a 05 big dog bulldog, and I'm having issues with it starting,I've had this bike 10+ yrs never had any problems with it starting. I got alarm stuck on it and ever since it's been a nightmare The alarm started acting up right away I brought it back in they did what they had to do I got it back same s*** The alarm was going off it was draining the battery so I bring it back into him he calls and tells me I need a new battery The battery is too small with this big bike and the alarm being on there so they tell me I need to buy a lithium battery I buy the lithium battery 260 damn dollars bring it to him they install it I get it back the same day I'm riding down the highway 60 miles an hour in the f****** thing just shut down nothing anyhow it's been four times now,now I just told him just take the damn thing out I don't want it ,it's not worth it but now my bike only starts if I disconnect the battery and then reconnect it I don't know if they've done something wrong because it only started acting up once they put the alarm system in. A few weeks ago when I was riding my bike I stopped at an ATM and shut my bike off I went to start it again and it made a really loud clank noise and shut down and there was nothing just nothing at all I trailer it home jump the battery and it started back up but that loud clink ,sounded like metal hidden metal it was not good . I believe I have a couple things going on here I just need some help trying to figure this out because I am a woman and some people like to take advantage of me as a woman owning this bike I know this because it's happened to me many times well they've tried to but I'm not your typical chick I want to know what's going on with my bike I want to know every step they're taking and I want to understand those steps

These bikes don’t like lithium batteries. I would follow Harry’s suggestion. Throw the alarm in the trash and carry a gun. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. You didn’t need an alarm for 10 years and you don’t need one now. Best of luck and welcome to the forum.

I concur with the previous posts. WATT was the last thing you did to the bike... the alarm.

As far as the metal knock, guessing it's a loose clutch main shaft bolt, but you'll know if its this by riding it and shifting. That or remove the derby cover and push/pull the whole clutch basket to see if it floats in and out. I'm thinking the starter is ratcheting out too far and is skipping teeth at the large gear behind the clutch basket. Just a guess here.

Yeah they just said that it would be a bigger battery because of that I just I think it's cuz they did something wrong and that was their their out but the thing is off my bike now so the alarm I'm just going to get a new battery and hopefully everything stays right I don't know
