08 K9 EFI. My dog broke down on me last night and I almost had to put her in the truck. I stopped for something to eat, when I went to restart she wouldn't fire. No spark. Hit the engine run button and the computer didn't react. (never heard the noise it make's when you hit the run button). Has happened a couple times.. This time it left me stranded for bout an hour and a half. Had the wife on her way, While I was waiting I tried to start it several times, nothing. Before wife showed up I tried it again and boom fired up. On the way home it cut out about 4 times. I think I have a bad wire rubbing out somewhere.

What really sucks is I know it will never do this for the mechanic at the dealer so finding the problem is gonna be a bitch..

Any Ideas?
Anyone have this problem?

Thanx guys....BTW thanx for all the tips on EVERYTHING. Upgrades, Mods, ETC. I was at the dealer yesterday and he was impressed with the mods I had done. Some of wich he said " I would have never thought of doing that". I just laughed

Do you keep the battery on a tender? Sounds like a weak battery to me.

Hope you figure it out soon before your riding season is over!

yep...I had just ridden it 150 miles I stopped for lunch...It cranked hard. you could not hear the computer turn on....on the efi, when you hit the run button it makes a distinctive noise under the gas tank. (Harley's do the same) It never did it.

I know its not a batteries problem.. Its definitely something else...

I live in so cal...Ride allllllll year BABY!!!!!....Only difference is we have to wear a bigger jacket:up:

also.....check your battery connections......if they are not tight.....that can cause problems.....
I will check them again....but I am 99% sure its not a battery problem

is it possible a wire is rubbing somewhere? Again it doesnt' do it all the time:angry:

Have to admit that I've never heard mine before. Still sounds like a battery problem or weak connections as Dave mentioned.
I would recommend load testing the battery.

Don't miss that So. Kal. traffic but did enjoy the weather year round!

Yeah, I know....... But the battery and connections are the cheaper thing to check first. Could also be the circuit board on the hand control but those things are pretty tough.

:D :D :D

The sound you hear when you hit the run button is the fuel pump...
ok.....I know it was getting fuel..I could really smell it...It had no spark AT ALL

I did get it started once jumped on and it died when I pulled out of the parking lot.. It wouldn't start for about an hour after that.

You gonna go today for shizzle?
