Help with Wire Plus & Crankcase Breather

Just fired the dog up after completing the Wire Plus install. Dog had NOT been started for a year and a month. Installed the Wire Plus and the new HD style switch. Gave the old girl two full twist of the throttle, hit the start button and after 5 seconds of cranking she busted off. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SOUND!

Let her run for about a minute and shut her down.

Two problems that I noticed:

1.) NO Tach sweep OR Annunciator lights!

2.) I run a crankcase breather and after shutting her down I noticed oil dripping from the crankcase breather filter. Normal after a year of not running?

Could be that when you lost your EHC it fried the tach board. The oil I wouldn't sweat until you run it for a bit.

All works but the Tach annunciator. Speedo backlight, high beam indicator, oil light, hi/low beam, blinkers, etc all are functioning as should be. I checked wiring and connections for tach and all looks good. Moespeed, annunciator worked before Wire Plus. EHC problem was the dreaded click click of the compression releases and bike only started when it wanted to.

Again, even after not running for a year and a month she fired right up after the WP upgrade. Oil leak from the breather has quit. Most likely cause was from setting for so long as another member had posted.

I'll double check grounds and see what I can find.

out of my 08 manual " if the tachometer in not working but all the annunciators are, the problem is either the tach signal wire ( yellow ) or the ignition module, and not the red or black wire that supplies power to the assembly.
The signal wire is a function of the ignition module, not the EHC, where it only passes through. The signal wire is green from the ignition module to the EHC, but is yellow from the EHC to tach.

ringo, interesting. I do have a yellow and green wire that according to the Wire Plus instructions are not used! I'll trace these back and see what I find. Thanks

Mine did the same. Had # 46 and # 47 switched. One should not be hooked up. Both wires are the same color green and right next to each other. One goes to main tach and the other is for external or a add on tach. On mine the wires twisted coming up through the silicone.
