Holla Amigo's,

I got the 2010 Bagger.
111 S&S
600 Cam
s&s dual induction
s&s VFI-Pre-loaded with Base Map
K&n long Radius

At usual temp upon running for a while, the bike spits and sputter's in the 4500 Rpm range like clock work up through 5500.

The Programmer has made adjustments to the soft-ware and doesn't think it's software related because it sometimes runs good @ start-up until she get's warm and then starts to act-yp.

Any idea's/suggetions. Fuel pressure is good also. It's been checked!

Gracia's!

Tommy

PS:Solve my problem and I buy shot's of Padron!

Tommy, have you run this by the S&S Technical Dept? They'd be the ones I'd trust to steer you in the right direction. Good luck!!!

I would have your programmer check the TPS setting. That is what it sound like to me.

How long have you ridden it with the new VFI?

My understanding that the S&S VFI needs a breakin period:

2hrs - capped at 4300rpm (spits and sputters like a mo-fo)
?hrs - capped at 5800rpm
20hrs - Redline

Basically you'll need 20 hours on the new VFI before you're seeing all the benefits. If you're not using a pre-build setting, this is the time to head back to the tuner to unleash the Dog.

Yep...if it was pre-built with any of the S&S mapping, it's "governed" by the RPMs above. I just went through the process myself (i.e. S&S sent pre-config'd with my upgrades).

You can over-ride it, but it's not recommended......

FWIW -during "mid ride" of it changing over from +10hrs, it rode like shit until I pulled over and re-started it. It's been running like a dream (minus a few random bad starts) ever since. I'm still slightly under 20hrs, but really don't have much need for over 5800 at this point. :)

Good luck.

p.s. I could make a video/audio of my (present) 5800rpm cap, but definitely sounds like what you're experiencing.

I sent you a pm. Maybe have 300 miles and figured it was a sho issue so took it to the shop. They were going to dyno the bike but, it's too long!!

Here's the vid. Sorry, I should have turned the Tach over to the speedo needle. Oh well.
