Help with shifter linkage

I bought my Mastiff used with the 2.5" forwards. The previous owner replaced the cone shaped spacer with an ugly hex shaped tube that was much shorter than the 1 5/8" long original spacer. I picked up an original spacer on flea bay, and when I installed it, it hits the down tube. If I adjust the rod so I can get it in first, without hitting the down tube, I can"t get it into second. What the hell am I missing? I can mill the spacer to a shorter length to clear the down tube, but then I'm more or less back in the same boat as with the ugly spacer. It looks like with the shorter spacer, the whole linkage assembly is out of whack. What has everyon else done when faced with this? Heres what I got. Thanks.

The spacer is shorter on the extended controls. I don't have a picture of 1 since I don't need the extended controls but I've put some on and the spacer was shorter (around 1" if I remember correctly. Personally I would modify the one you have and get a shorter bolt.

Thanks a bunch. Not having the instructions, or seeing the kit itself, I didn't know it used a shorter spacer. I will definately mill this one down and cut the bolt, chase the threads, etc.

When i installed my extensions, the short spacer cocked the linkage to far. So I took my long spacer and cut in half. Used the biggest diameter part in the front and the other half in the rear of the linkage. This made my linkage perfectly straight and no binding. Had to get different length bolts but that was big deal. I also milled the three slots in the foot shifter pivot plate so that I could adjust the foot lever back more to get my boot under the peg. I got my linkage as short as possible to be able to get my boot to fit right.

I just cut the spacer in half and cut the bolt down to clear the down tube. Make sure the arm on the tranny is straight up 12 oclock and also the shifter arm is in the same position. My shifter arm bolt is just infront of down tube.

Use two smaller spacers and space out the front and the rear also to correct the offset. Make sure it doesn't bind the Heim joints
