Help with pegs

I'm a proud new owner of a 2005 pitbull. The bike came with chrome spike pegs, which I would like to switch due to slippage. I'm new to this bike, and would like to know some options I have with pegs that will fit this bike. I was looking on JP Cycles and they have a bunch, but most of those are for Harley's and a buddy told me they won't fit. Does anyone know this to be true? Also, would Kuryakyn pegs fit with their adaptor. I would prefer a little bit longer pegs. Any input would be much appreciated.

Kuryakyn makes an adapter that I believe will work and they have a pretty good variety and the adapter may will allow other pegs. Not sure of this though but hopefully some others on here will chime in. One thing to remember is the longer the peg the greater chance they will scrub in tight turns.

watch how long the pegs you buy actually are compared to the ones on the bike. When you run the curvy roads they may drag if you have to lean into it fairly hard, these bikes sit low. Be safe and have fun

Kuryakyn does indeed make an adapter specifically for our dogs that will allow you to mount the Kuryakyn pegs of your choice. I have 2 sets of Kuryakyn pegs installed on my bike. Dealing with this company on the phone is a pure pleasure-they will know EXACTLY what you're talking about when you mention the adapter kit, get the order right, and ship on time. First rate quality parts, too. ANY idiot can install K. pegs with the adapter kit, I'm living proof.

Thanks for the input so far. I'm not looking to go longer than what I have now. Does anyone know the length of stock and banded pegs compared to the spike pegs that I have.

I don't have kuryakyn pegs on my bike. I have bdm spike pegs. I was inquiring on other pegs because I want to switch. I still looking for the length of stock and banded pegs though.
