Help with ignition key

Bought a 05 Pitbull last December. It came with one key and I would like to get a couple spares. BUT, the key is stamped with a Harley logo and the number C14. I assume the ignition was replaced with a Harley. I took the key to one Harley shop, he said my best bet was to go to a key shop....I think when I told him it was in a Dog, he changed his custome service. Sooooo, what would be my best option to look? I do not know any more than the logo and C14 on the key. Thanks for any help.

Bro, My Dog arrived to Spain with one key also.... no probs... it took me to visit a couple key shops.... easy to make if you find the right person willing to make it for you. they are easy enough! Don't worry... I wish these were the worse probs! :D :2thumbs:

Good question, I have been trying to get an extra key for awhile as mine only came with one, it is a Big Dog key. I've tried the local dealer, had no matching blanks, tried lock smith, didn't work, tried key guy/lock smith at Bike Week, no go. Anyone know the answer?

I bought a Big Dog spare key from BD Performance Parts. Cost, I think 15.00 with shipping.

Thanks for all the replys.........BUT, my key is not a BD. Mine has a small Harley shield on it, which I beleve the previous owner had changed. Are you saying that locksmiths carry these key blanks?

Does it look like a normal key? Or is it one of those cylinder or tube looking things? If it's a normal key, a locksmith most likely have a blank and will do a copy in about a minute

Its a normal key. I was told it looks like an older Harley key by a Harley dealer, who by the way, said they dont have blanks, only after I told him it was for a BD.....Uhmmmmmmmm

OK, to the locksmith in the morning then. Don't know, but it may well be that HD dealer doesn't really have blanks, since they don't have the machinery to do keys anyway (?)

Call BDM Performance parts. They will need the number stamped on your current key and can ship you duplicates. I think there was only 10 or so types of keys used on the BDs. I don't recall exactly, but think they ran $11 per key.
