Help the old guy ID his bike?

I bought a chopper advertised as a Salvage/Rebuild, 2005 Iron horse with an S&S 111. S&S tells me I have a 2002 107ci with 600 cams. I found Rolling Thunder and a Maple leaf stamped on the top engine mount. Then I’m told Rolling Thunder built frames for Big Dog bikes.

Does anyone see why I’m confused? I just want to ID MY bike. Any help is appreciate.

If I'm not mistaken, Rolling Thunder frames were made in Canada. My 04 Chopper had one. Other than that I don't know. Did you run the VIN #? Maybe that will help.

Welcome from Melbourne Florida. So sounds like you got a mixed breed! Hope you get it all sorted out!

We have run the VIN on almost every state and site we can find. The bike came with an Alabama salvage/rebuilt title. Numbers are SOS306001ILL. I had the number run by two deputies and it came back good.

Definitely looks like a Rolling Thunder Bobber frame. Can tell by the little tab at the back tip of the frame. 211B5BE3-F596-49BC-9957-3F2AB75AD2FE.jpeg

Yes. I saw that when I was looking at frames on their website. And that frame looks like mine except I have two down tubes that start at the neck, where this has the one tube into two.
Yeah I think back in day that frame was built it was two from the neck down. Just like a BigDog frame.

OK. We have narrowed the lid down to 2003 Big Dog Chopper built on a Rolling Thunder bobber frame, with S&S 107 w/600 cams and compression release.

The folks giving the information sound knowledgeable and credible. Now to place calls.

Actually, I was wrong on that. The picture on the other thread.was an 03 chopper. This is a whole different bike. When you were talking about a digital speedo, I was like, what am missing here. Hman straighten me out. Sorry for steering you wrong.

That's a custom build, 12 digit Vin. Someone bought an RT frame, maybe from them directly. Prob motor and trans came from the wrecked iron horse. But anyone's guess is as good as the next.

Since the 17 digit Vin is gone frame wasn't the donor.

WELL. Big Dog says uh-hu, not ours. Rolling Thunder has not called or replied.
BUT. The frame IS stamped on the upper engine mount “Rolling Thunder” and the Maple leaf.
AND. The number on the neck is an Illinois number last issued 4/2009 according to Illinois MVD.
Alabama title applied for in 2015.
SO. WTF? Sorry. I don’t normally talk like that but this search has been frustrating. I’d normally let go a long time ago.

I now call it my Maytag Mesershmitz.
