Help starter problem

I took my starter out to put install a deadone custom esc and after replacing the starter it turns over but makes a lot of noise like the gears are not lining up. I pulled starter back out and reinstalled it and same thing. I took battery out and had it tested at autozone and they said it was fine. I'm not getting just clicks like bad battery I'm getting some serious noise. The starter never has been a issue before I took it out. I have checked all connections and everything is tight. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tim

Did you try emailing Jeff to see what his thoughts would be, he's very helpful and if you e-mail him he will answer even if its on the weekend.

If he installed a ESC unit from DOC's then he knows Jeff, he owns DOC's and will help you anyway he can

Jeff emailed me he is great at customer service he has always answered my calls and has been very helpful. He saw this post and recommended I pull the outer primary cover off.
