I have a really stupid question for you guys. I have an 06 pitbull and I can't figure out how to check the freakin oil. I pulled the oil fill cap and there is no dipstick on it. Am I missing something????

oil should be at the bottom of the filler neck I think. the hardtails don's have a "dipstick" on the cap.

No gas gauge ... no dip stick ... pretty soon no gas ... no oil ... I'm getting a bicycle ... I need to get in shape anyway ... BDM makes a dip stick for some of the models but for the Ridgeback I use a popsicle stick and mark it where it should be ... just eat the popsicle before you stick it in the oil reservior. :spank:  :D

Yep no dip stick, oil level should be just at the filler neck. I check mine with my middle finger. There is another cap available thats easy to remove but doesn't work with the passenger pegs:up:

Frankly, the dipstick that does come with, for example, my K-9, is pretty worthless anyway. It's a lot easier to just look down the filler tube and see that the oil level is right at the base of the tube.

Muggs,

It should be at just the bottom of the fill neck. By chance did you get a O & M manual? May want to chase one down along with a Service Manual to help out on some questions it the future.
